Mission Statement IACE
The International Association of Core Energetics is an alliance of Core Energetic Institutes dedicated to forming and sustaining cooperative and collaborative professional relationships. The IACE is committed to establish and refine ethical, educational and professional standards in order to support the evolution and expansion of Core Energetics.
Our intention is to cultivate professional excellence and integrity through worldwide collaboration, cross-cultural exchanges and opportunities for professional development among teaching staff, students, alumni and practitioners.
We commit ourselves to fulfill this mission in order to bring higher consciousness, love and healing energy to our world.
Core Energetics grew out of the Reichian and Bioenergetic work of John Pierrakos and the inclusion of some of the concepts of the Pathwork Lectures in the 1960’s and 1970’s. John’s work influenced many practitioners and there was an international group of training institutes that coalesced around him and his work of Core Energetics as well as a number of well attended International conventions but no formal association or agreed upon standards between the different Institutes. Following John’s death in 2001 there was a lack of agreement on the structure and growth for new institutes and after 2005 the international cohesiveness was lost. During the next 10 years there was some growth in certain regions and there were certainly collaborations between regions with senior faculty staying in contact and teaching at each others institutes, and even some regional conventions, but little organized international collaboration.
During this time some of the International Core Energetics faculty began meeting as a support network for each other and fed the flames of community and eventually opened this up to an all faculty meeting. There began to be healing between the original institute directors and the new directors and faculty and an emerging desire to once again have international conventions and attempt to create a more cohesive international community and standards for our trainings and faculty. This culminated in a wonderful International convention in Italy in 2016 and then a meeting of 17 directors from 12 regions in Portland with a decision to form the International Association of Core Energetics (IACE) with committees to formulate a mission statement, to plan for a website, to work on standards for training curriculum, to work on our ethical standards and repair process, and to begin envisioning the future of Core Energetics in a collaborative way.
We are very excited that our new association will work to embody both the Intentions that are so central to Core Energetics: to be a spiritual community that seeks to be more loving and unified, and to be a professional community that offers training and experiential learning that evolves with new knowledge. We will give our best to bring forth the best in each other.
